The Next Level

MilSim stands for “Military Simulation,” a style of airsoft focused on by Chimaera to simulate as realistically as possible civil or military operations. Players are expected to immerse themselves in their roles and wear appropriate clothing. Roles may include good/evil civilians, and players should express themselves in a self-built realistic environment with props and vehicles. Pyrotechnics and smokes are essential for realism, and playing under time pressure with little sleep is normal. MILSIM is for the seasoned airsoft player who wants to take airsoft to “The next level”.

Key Features of our MilSims:

• Realistic Scenarios: Our MILSIMS include complex and realistic scenarios such as kidnapping VIPs, blowing up drug labs, placing IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), negotiating with mayors or village heads to prevent escalations, conducting clandestine civil/military operations at night, performing MEDEVACS (Medical Evacuations) for fallen team members, and having a QRF (Quick Reaction Force) ready to assist anywhere.
• Mission-Oriented: Our MILSIMS are more focused on completing even more realistic missions under time and enemy pressure. This requires unique collaboration not only between team members but also between different callsigns and strategic planning by Commanders and TLs (Team Leaders), including pre-mission briefings and post-mission debriefs by TLs to their commanders to determine the next step in the game.
• Limited Resources: To add realism, players are limited in ammunition and replicas and must supply themselves with medical supplies like TQ (Tourniquet) or Medical bandages, forcing teams to manage their resources effectively and communicate.
• Immersive Environments: In our MilSim events, we strive to create immersive environments with realistic playfields and scenarios, enhancing the overall experience.
• Strategic Elements: Our MILSIMS emphasize more strategic planning, collaboration, and communication, where an RO (radio officer) maintains radio communication. Commanders and their Teams must devise and execute tactics to succeed, constantly updating their position, mission progress, and communication with HQ (headquarters). Base Defense is essential to protect HQ from attacks, with guards maintained throughout the event and tasks divided on a rotating schedule.
• Role-playing: Our MILSIMS always include role-playing, with players taking on specific roles. These vary widely, and players are encouraged to contribute to building enjoyable settlements like casinos, coffee shops, labs, town halls, discos, etc. This contributes to the realism and varied dynamics of the game, and LARP teams may be involved to enhance realism.
• Realistic Equipment: In our MILSIMS, adhering to clothing rules is mandatory. Team recognition is based on wearing Camo and specific clothing. For TF (Task Force), it’s always Multicam (including rain/winter jackets), while for OPFOR (Opposing Force), it varies depending on the scenario, ranging from casual clothing specific to your role or certain types of camo, or distinctive clothing like a Pakol or Shemaghs, or even a full black outfit. Players are encouraged to wear realistic military equipment, plate carriers, helmets, radios with decent headsets, proper flashlights or NODs for evening/night missions, and other relevant accessories.
• Simulation of Injury: In our MILSIMS, the concept of injury is always present, requiring players to use medical supplies to treat wounded teammates. Medics are always deployed to follow certain medical rules before players can continue. MEDEVACS are often used to repatriate the injured.

The goal of our MILSIMS: Chimaera Airsoft Events aims to provide players with a more advanced and challenging experience than traditional airsoft games through our MILSIMS. It requires not just skill in handling airsoft replicas, but also strategic insight, teamwork, empathy, and communication. Participating in our MilSim events is a great way to explore the deeper aspects of airsoft and enjoy the most realistic and teamwork-oriented gaming experience airsoft can offer.
